Our Savior Lutheran Preschool

Our Savior Lutheran Preschool’s program is directed toward helping children grow in the following areas: Spiritual, Intellectual, Physical, Emotional, Social, and Artistic. Since the core of our curriculum is the Christian faith as expressed in the Lutheran tradition; the children are also taught Bible stories, Bible verses, songs, and engage in discussions about the Faith. Though the curriculum is Lutheran based, Our Savior Lutheran Preschool is open to children of all beliefs and denominations.

We teach the children Kindergarten readiness skills, such as, thinking skills, pre-math, and language development through a Montessori style, play based curriculum format. Children also develop control and coordination by working on fine and gross motor skills through cutting, writing, painting, exercise, play, and movement. We emphasize the self worth of each child by instilling in them self confidence and a positive self image. We strive to provide each child with a secure and happy environment. It is our goal to minister to the spiritual, mental, and physical growth of all children enrolled in the preschool program.

Enrollment begins in the Spring and is on a first come, first served basis. You can contact the Church office or the Preschool Director to schedule visits or begin the enrollment process. We begin our school year in September, and the last day of school is approximately the second week in May. We follow the schedule of Bad Axe Area Public schools calendar for the year, as well as for any emergency closures. We also work with Huron County ISD for any additional services and IEPs. School begins each day at 8:30 a.m. and dismisses at 2:30 p.m. for the all day program, and 8:30 a.m to 11am for the half day program. Full day and half day programs are based upon parent choice, but it is encouraged that 3’s enroll in half day, while 4’s enroll in full day.
